What we collect

When you send an enquiry or register with us, we collect the details you enter: your name, email address and phone number, the property postcode, and what you tell us about your property, your plans or what you are looking for (for example budget, bedrooms and areas). We also record which page of our website you sent the enquiry from.

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and arrange a valuation, appraisal, consultation or viewing. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
• Off-market buyer register. If you register for off-market homes, we keep your search details and contact you when a property that matches comes to us privately or before it is publicly marketed. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing info@merakiproperty.com or replying to any message from us.
• Marketing. We will not add you to marketing mailings unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. Off-market details are shared only with the owner of a property you ask to view, and only as far as needed to arrange that viewing. We use service providers to run our website and email: Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and receives enquiry forms on our behalf, and our email provider delivers enquiries to us. Netlify is based in the United States; where information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to an instruction or tenancy: 2 years from your last contact with us.
• Off-market buyer register: until you ask us to remove you. We will check every 12 months whether you want to stay registered.
• Where an enquiry leads to a sale, letting or management instruction, we keep records for as long as the law requires.

Cookies and third parties

This website does not set cookies or use tracking. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google. Links to Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket, Trustpilot and The Property Ombudsman take you to their websites, which have their own privacy notices.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or withdraw consent you have given. Email info@merakiproperty.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.
